The Masters Tournament Format

The tournament is for players who aim to experience playing against fellow veteran players and test their GG skills at the highest level. It is an online tournament for players whose ranking in Mawkins app is Lt. Colonel and up. Players below Lt. Col. can join if less than 28 players register.  Tournament will start on June 25th. There will be an entrance fee of 75 pesos which will be used for awards and prizes.

Group Stage

The tournament is scheduled to commence on June 25th, starting with the group stage. The game schedule will be determined based on the agreed upon time among the players. In the event that players are unable to reach a consensus, the tournament organizer can provide assistance.. Registered participants will be divided into four groups. In the group stage, each group will engage in a single round-robin format, where every player within the group competes against each other once. Victorious players will receive 2 points, a draw will grant 1 point, and no points will be awarded for a loss. The top two players with the highest point totals from each group will advance to the best-of-three quarterfinals round in a cross-over format. In case of a tie, game played between the tied player will determine who will advance. If their head to head game is also a tie, then both will play a match until a clear winner comes out.

Quarter Finals

In the quarterfinals, the first-place player from Group A will face off against the second-place player from Group B, while the top player from Group B will compete against the second-place player from Group A. The same arrangement applies to Group C and Group D. All quarterfinal matches will be played as best-of-three series, and the winners of each series will advance to the semifinals.

Semi-Finals and Championship Stage

The opponents in the semifinals and finals stage will be determined by the outcomes of the quarter finals round. Similar to the quarterfinals, each player will participate in a best-of-three series during these stages.

Awards And Prizes

Champion - 3000 Pesos + Trophy+ Certificate + 5 rating points

2nd Place - 1000 Pesos + Trophy + Certificate + 4 rating points

Semi Finalist - 3 rating points

Quarter Finalist - 2 rating points

Disconnection/Internet Connectivity Issue The game begins when any player makes the first move. If a player got disconnected during the game and fails to reconnect, it will be counted as a loss, resulting in their opponent being declared the winner.
Player App SettingsAll games will be played by the following app settings. It is important that we follow this settings to make sure the default tournament rules within the app is followed.
30 Moves Rule - For our tournament, 30 moves rule applies. For those who are not aware the rule was put into place by the game inventor himself. Basically what it state is that “If no challenge is made after 30 complete moves from the start of the game, the player with more pieces past the mid-point of the board wins the match. if no piece has gone beyond the mid-point, or if there is an equal number of pieces beyond the mid-point, the game is automatically declared a draw.
Players Conduct - Generals League encourage all players to observe fair play during the tournament. Any player found cheating, taking advantage of tournament rule loopholes and other un-sportsman behavior will face disciplinary action.
Game Defaults -Since all participants are veteran players, we aim to avoid any defaults by enabling players to schedule their games amongst themselves. We kindly request all players to reach a consensus regarding the game time schedule. If an agreement cannot be reached, the organizer will schedule a time we deemed convenient time both players.
Default Player Game Result - In the group stage, when a player voluntarily default a game, all their remaining games at that stage of the tournament will be voided (0 points). 
Dispute Resolution - Our rules may not be perfect, and players may find loopholes in them. In the event of a player dispute, the tournament organizer will strive to resolve it as fairly as possible, and the organizer's decision will be final.
Registration Fee - Our goal is to create a sustainable tournament, and to achieve this, we will be collecting a registration fee. The registration fee will cover the cash prizes for the winners, and any remaining balance will be used to finance miscellaneous expenses such as our face-to-face tournament, an emergency fund to cover future tournaments in case the registration fee collected is not enough, and other related expenses. We will release a financial statement to ensure transparency and show how the registration fee is used.
